Hi, I’m at Otakon.
Details to follow! Probably not today though.
I just got back from it. Â Â I have to say, great concert. Â Only little complaints I’d have are that the sound system was a little crappy, and they severely under-utilized the ginormous monitors above the orchestra.
A few comments though
1) Sonic the Hedgehog music was not meant to be performed by a symphony orchestra, and doesn’t sound right that way
2) You haven’t heard One Winged Angel until you’ve heard it performed live by a full orchestra (and lemme again send out a big FUCK YOU to Video Games Live for having the very same song performed by some schmuck on a piano and two women when there was a full goddamned symphony orchestra not 10 feet behind them)
3) The Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross medley was one of the greatest things I have ever heard.
Also, I have to ask what the hell the people running it were thinking when they sold T-shirts to a video game music concert, sure to be extremely popular amongst big fat geeks, and didn’t bother getting ANY bigger than Large. Â You’d think the people who organized Dear Friends and More Friends would know better than that, but apparently not.
Not as bad as I was afraid it would be, but still nowwhere near as good as the first one.    Unless you’re gonna pirate it, though- wait for the DVD.
